Tickets should cause sending emails

Description

The ticket system could see some love. Most importantly, reporter and assignee should receive a mail on ticket creation and on subsequent changes to that ticket. If this is not done, the ticket system will never get used the way it is intended.

Right now, a person can receive a mail if his mail address is explicitly set in the CC field _but_ is different from the one in his own user account. For example, if I have my account's mail set to mv@…, I only receive mails if CC is set to mv@… and vice versa. However, this is neither convenient nor does it send mails on ticket creation.

Strange. I think, everything is more-or-less should work as you described.

  1. According, to the Trac configuration both reporter and owner of the ticket are notified. At least, I was notified about this ticket and you don't have me in CC. I guess some mailing problems may happen to the user accounts created while mail confirmation subsystem was broken. If you are sure the confirmation emails does not reach your account try to create a test user and check if it will get notifications. If the notifications will work with the test user, just recreate your account. Otherwise, please, reopen this ticket.
  1. The CC problem I completely does not understand. You have a popup window with list of all trac users and you can mark anybody in this list. E-mails will be send to the addresses they have provided during the registration. I don't see why do you need to type any e-mails at all.
